April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent the abuse of children. To recognize those in the community who truly make a difference in foster children’s lives, Foster Angels of Central Texas will be hosting our 5th annual Appreciation Luncheon on April 15, 2015 at the Austin Hilton Hotel. We are expecting a great attendance of community members including the many caseworkers who work hard ensuring these children’s safety, our many Foster Angels supporters, and others who share our passion for this cause.
Foster Angels will recognize 10 remarkable foster children who are working hard towards a better future. By honoring these children we will be giving them each a special surprise that is specific their passions and needs. This will give those who attend a chance to meet some of
the inspiring children that we serve.
This keynote speaker is Mark Anthony Garrett, America’s #1 expert and motivator for the child welfare industry. Growing up in a tough inner city in Ohio he faced many hardships as a child in the foster care system such as being a special needs child, poverty, neglect, homelessness, abandonment, and abuse. Losing his adoptive mother to cancer at 14 led him to drugs and other negative situations. After receiving guidance from influential mentors, he decided to take destiny into his own hands and attending college, where he received many awards and a degree in wildlife biology and entrepreneurship.
This experience inspired him to dedicate his life to helping troubled youth and adults overcome the negative challenges within their lives and realize that they have greatness within them. For over 18 years, Mark Anthony Garrett has motivated audiences from all over the world with his empowering speeches, training, and transformational seminars. He is the leading columnist for Fostering Families Today magazine and author of Teachers Are Heroes-7 Success Principles For Transformational Teaching. Mark is one of the most requested speakers within the Child Welfare Industry and we are truly excited for him to be attending our special event.
Individual tickets to the luncheon are $100 per seat. Sponsorship levels are available in the Platinum Level for $4,000 and Gold Level for $2,000. All sponsors will be featured in our newsletter, on our website and on the Facebook page. Their logo or name printed on the luncheon program which will be at each table setting.
