Position Overview & Basic Function:
Foster Angels of Central Texas (FACT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children in foster care. We are committed to ensuring children in care have their basic needs met and have access to life-enhancing opportunities that create a sense of normalcy. Foster Angels is searching for a Community Relations Coordinator for an exciting opportunity to manage our annual drives as well as support community engagement activities year-round.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Take the lead on annual drives including Toys for Teens holiday program and Back to School drives from start to finish. For instance, beginning with assessing needs from child welfare advocates and then executing a successful drive, managing partnerships and volunteers to fulfill and meet those needs.
- Assist Director of Partnerships & Communications with creating content for social media platforms, newsletter and printed materials as it relates to the annual drives.
- Work with the fundraising team to identify and cultivate key partnerships for the annual drives.
- Help execute annual fishing trip for youth in foster care by identifying sponsorship opportunities and coordinating activities with the program team.
- Respond to in-kind donation inquiries and coordinate pick-up and delivery
- Attend outreach events to share the mission and work of FACT.
- Assist on additional programmatic and fundraising events as-needed.
- Support staff with other projects deemed as necessary
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- An interest in and commitment to the Foster Angels mission
- Strong interpersonal, verbal & written communications skills
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask on various projects
- Ability to work independently while being a good team player
- Effective time management, able to meet deadlines & reliable
- Strong problem-solving, priority-setting and decision-making skills
Preferred Knowledge & Skills:
- 1-3 years of experience in community outreach, event planning, fundraising, or a related role.
- Knowledge of the child welfare system in Texas is a plus, but additional training will be provided.
- Proficiency in Google docs, Canva, and social media platforms; experience with donor management software is a plus.

- Background check; Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Must be available for specific dates throughout the year including early August and December.
