Meet our 2023 Bright Angel Scholars
Mercedes is enrolled at the University of Texas at San Antonio majoring in finance.
“I am so thankful to be chosen for the Foster Angels Program. I went to school later in life due to finances but this program takes that burden from me. I am majoring in finance at University of Texas at San Antonio and my goal is to get a MBA. I am interested in financial analytics. I have a 3.8 GPA and work for PATH program which is for foster youth who attend community colleges. Before PATH I worked in banking and childcare.”
Shante is a sophomore at Tarleton State University majoring in Animal Science with a concentration of Pre Vet.
“I am looking forward to starting new beginnings.”
Miriam is an incoming freshmen at Texas State University majoring in Nursing.
“This year I’m excited to make new friends and get more involved with the community. I have already joined the women’s ministry, a few of my friends are already involved and one of them is a youth group leader! I am so grateful to be a part of Foster Angels!”
Lillia is a sophomore 3rd year student at Texas A&M University of San Antonio majoring in Biology Science
“I plan to go to med school to become an Obstetrician/gynecologist. I am so grateful to be a part of this program!”
Hailey is a sophomore at Tarleton State University.
“I’m a part of the Honors College program and run Division 1 Track and Field.”
Jayonna is enrolled at the University of Texas at San Antonio majoring in Nursing.
“This year I’m excited to build relationships and connections with people that have the same degree of interest as me. I’m excited to be given the opportunity to further my education because education is super important and can open many doors for knowledge and future success. I’m excited to test my skills, push myself to learn more, and work hard to achieve what I want in life.”
Michelle is in graduate school majoring in Masters in Cybersecurity.
“I’m excited about starting classes because this will be my first semester in Grad School!”
Chelsy is obtaining an associate degree in Biology.
“I’m 25 and in the works of obtaining my first Associates Degree in Biology, because that’s my passion. Next I’ll be moving on to computer science to learn more about software development since I currently work with a software development company. I have an almost 6 year old daughter who is my world, and who I am showing that we can do anything we put our minds to despite our circumstances.”
Lilly is enrolled at Austin Community College majoring in Social Work.
“I am excited to start my semester this year!”
Eden is a sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Consumer Affairs with a concentration in family financial management.
“I’m from Austin Texas and I’m so excited for it to be cooler this winter so I can wear my favorite sweaters.”
