This December, Foster Angels will be hosting the 3rd Annual Toys for Teens Holiday Sponsorship Drive. For 2014, we have chosen 30 very special foster youth (between the ages of 14 and 20) to sponsor, giving them a holiday season to remember. These teens have been in foster care for years—many for their entire lives. Their chances of being adopted are small, if any, and soon they will ‘age out’ of foster care. With your help, we will be purchasing everything from each of their wish lists, a dream these kids would never expect to be fulfilled. Each gift will be beautifully wrapped and delivered to the children early so they will have plenty of gifts to open.
Here’s an example of one of the teens on the list this year:
Derrrick (16)
Derrick is a sweet and caring young man that wants a loving family. He has had many challenges in his life but is a very strong 16 year old and knows that if he continues to work hard he can accomplish all of his goals. The holidays can be a very lonely and difficult time for Derrick as he continues to hope for his forever home. This Christmas we hope to bring some Christmas cheer to Derrick when he wakes up on Christmas morning to find beautifully wrapped presents just for him! While Derrick hopes for his forever family this Christmas he has added a few other things to his wish list:
• Game Stop Gift Card
• Ipad
• Beats by Dre Headphones
If you would like to sponsor a child you will receive their name and story, along with their wish list. Each child has requested between one and five items. Due to the fact that these children are older, each wish list does include some high-ticket items (i.e. iPod, laptop, camera, nicer clothing). If you are unable to provide these specific gifts, but still want to sponsor a child, Foster Angels will find a way to cover the pricier items that remain. If you are interested in participating, please contact Jennifer Hayhurst at jennifer@fosterangelsctx.org
Thank you SO much for your generosity! These kids are going to be very surprised, and will have a Holiday Season to remember!
