Bright Angel Scholars

We offer financial support over the course of four years to fund wrap around services that are not covered by tuition. Each scholar is paired with a mentor to ensure the success of foster youth in higher education.

Did You Know?

  • Only 50% of children in foster care graduate from high school.
  • 100% of children in foster care in the state of Texas receive free college tuition to a public Texas university.
  • 84% of foster youth express wanting to go to college, but only 3% go on to complete a four-year degree.

The goal of this program is to mitigate these statistics by providing financial and emotional support to students throughout their post-secondary career. This has proven to be a winning formula, with 60% of students achieving completion.

We currently have 30 bright angel scholars and a total of 17 graduates since the program’s inception.
