Interested in volunteering your time, talents, or treasures to benefit local foster children?

—GIFT CARDS—

Foster Angels is always in need of gift cards from various local retailers and stores.  These gift cards are given to the children directly, allowing them to shop for their very own new clothing, shoes, beds, food, and personal belongings.  You can help by contacting local businesses asking for donations in the form of gift cards.  We will take any denomination.  The most requested vendors are Walmart, Target, Ross, JC Penney, Payless Shoes, HEB, IKEA, and Citi Trends.   This gift card program is by far our biggest area of need and allows us to continue filling requests for children of all ages in foster care.

—ANGEL BOXES—

How about putting together special gift boxes for children in care? This is a great opportunity to directly impact a child’s life and brighten their spirits. Volunteers can shop for items for the children, assemble and decorate the boxes, and write personal letters of encouragement to the children. Foster Angels is happy to reimburse volunteers for any costs, or you may donate and receive a tax receipt. This is a great activity for church groups, volunteer organizations, or individuals.

—CHRISTMAS DRIVE—

The holidays typically intensify feelings of sadness, loneliness, and uncertainty for foster children. In 2013, Foster Angels hopes to make a big impact in the lives of at least 30 hand-selected youth in foster care who especially need our help. Volunteers can shop for the items on their wishlists and wrap the gifts. Again, Foster Angels can reimburse or you may donate the items.  All volunteer work for the Christmas drive will be completed by December 15th.

—BIRTHDAY PARTIES—

Foster Angels often receives requests for birthday parties for a child in foster care. Many times, these children have never experienced a birthday party of their own. Volunteers can plan and coordinate the party for the children. Some requests only ask for gifts. In this case, volunteers can shop for the birthday items, wrap, and deliver the gifts to our offices.

—ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT—
